Gucci Donates $500,000 to the March For Our Lives Gun Control Rally

Even after the iconic Men's & Women's Fall 2018 Fashion Show, Gucci has still managed to obtain headlines.

Three days after Gucci's fashion show that broke barriers by incorporating props such as fake heads and baby dragons Gucci kept with the headlines, and donated $500,000 to the March For Our Lives Gun Control Rally. Gucci is matching George & Amal Clooney, Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, and Kate Capshaw's donation of $500,000 to an organization started by students mainly from Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland Florida.

"March for our Lives is created by, inspired by, and led by students across the country who will no longer risk their lives waiting for someone else to take action to stop the epidemic of mass school shootings that has become all to familiar," March For Our Lives mission statement.

This however isn't the first time Gucci has publicly donated to an organization. In 2013 Gucci backed the "Chime for Change," a global campaign which raised awareness for girls', and womens' issues.

The March For Our Lives is a student led movement who's main goal is to take on Trump and the Gun Lobby. The group has scheduled a protest at Washington DC, on March 24. Along with the rally the Women's March YOUTH Empower Group has planned a National School Walkout on March 14th. The group encourages students, teachers, administrators, and parents to walkout for 17 minutes for the 17 victims in the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting.
