With over a 100 looks that crisscrossed with the architecture of the Metropolitan Opera House in New York.

Dolce & Gabbana hosted an open-door, three night Alta Moda extravaganza, which included their women's collection showcase at the Metropolitan Opera house located in New York. Designers Domenico Dolce, and Stefano Gabbana went against the status quo by showcasing their Couture collection in the United States, when designers are traditionally known for hosting Alta Moda in classic Italian destinations such as Milan, Sicily, and Naples.

The weekend event began with a presentation at the New York Public Library for Dolce & Gabbana's Alta Gioielleria (high jewelry) line on Friday. The following day consisted of the Alta Sartoria (men's couture) show at the Rainbow Room at Rockefeller Center. On the final day the Women's Collection debuted at the Metropolitan Opera House.

The collection wasn't only inspired by the Met, but the collection was also a "high-low ode," to New York, and the United States. With photos of traffic in Times Square, to 'God save America,' was intarsia'd into the lantern sleeve of a mink coat the collection accomplished what they were going for.
