Fall/Winter 2018-2019 Trend Report

Fall/Winter 2018-2019 Trend Report

Based off of Paris Vogue's seasonal report, here are the top 5 trends that we should be expecting to see this upcoming fall/winter season.

1. Faux Fur:

Designers used artifical fur in new dynamic ways. Givenchy created a patchwork using hints of dark blue with natural colors. Hybrid fur with forms of safety straps was how Calvin Klein showcased the fur. Along side the two, Stella McCartney created a more edgy fleece.

2. Tartan:

The Scottish pattern was used in all different ways by designers at fashion week. Michael Kors used it for a preppy/nostalgic look, punk layering was how Versace used the pattern, and a sporty interpretation at Burberry.

3. Shearling:

This fleece coat was a more practical fabric chosen by designers this season. Shearling is given a new edge with metal embroidery at Louis Vuitton, a pattern at Tod's, and a sharp hippie spirit at Dior.

4. Supersize:

Oversized clothing was used to create a more dynamic ensemble by designers at fashion week. Oversized clothing was used by Saint Laurent in the form of a glittery mini dress, ruffles by Alexander McQueen, and an 80's oversized suit at Marc Jacobs.

5. Layering:

Layering is a re-accuring trend used by designers at fashion week. A bright green hoodie paired with black and ivory layers at Chanel, pilled parkas at Balenciaga, and color blocking layers at Prada.
